ASAN ST's 7 Slot, 64-bit/66MHz PCI-to-PCI Expansion Systems provide seven 64-bit/66MHz PCI slots in a separate enclosure (Rack-mount or Tower) that connects to a host desktop or server through an available PCI slot. Utilizing serialized bridging technology, everything installed in the enclosure actually acts as if it's inside the host computer. This is accomplished by the chassis communicating to the host via a standard three meter, high-speed 5 Gigabit full-duplex link providing up to a 528 Megabytes/second data transfer rate between the host computer and the hardware within the chassis.
In addition, by using ASAN ST's techniques, you can add seven 64-bit/66MHz (64/66) PCI slots on a single bus segment (using a single bridge chip) vs. four 64/66 PCI slots in a common single PCI bus segment. As a result, our solution provides a compelling value proposition for those who want to maximize the functionality of their host system, while minimizing the costs and performance degradation commonly associated with multiple bridge chips. |
