| The ELK-PSD-PRO, ASAN ST's professional-level software diagnostic suite is designed to meet the demanding and ever-changing needs of PC troubleshooting professionals. The ELK-PSD-PRO adds many enhancements that are direct results of suggestions we have received from our customers. Newly added is Multi-Processor and Co-Processor support for up to 8 CPUs, High-Speed USB 2.0 testing(with optional ELK-HD-USB2.0 device), Network loop-back for Intel-based chipsets with onboard 10/100/1000 ethernet port(s), and Audio loop-back for Intel-based chipsets with onboard AC'97 sound. The suite includes ELK-PSD-PRO on both Floppy and CDROM Bootable media. The combination of these media gives you unmatched troubleshooting capabilities. It is so powerful; it will replace all other software diagnostics you are presently using. Diagnostic Software supports PC 486 through Intel Pentium 4 and AMD 64 & 32-bit compatible processors. The ELK-PSD-PRO is designed to run in two modes. In self-booting (SB) mode, the software uses direct hardware access commands to perform true low-level diagnostics. If your testing requires an Operating System, no problem, simply boot to a DOS prompt and run ELK-PSD-PRO. In either mode, the software boots to a pop up menu bar. Simply select from four menus, Quick Inventory, System Configuration, Diagnostics or Burn-In. When selecting Quick Inventory and System Configuration, ELK-PSD-PRO provides the most accurate information for any device. It displays up to 65 pages of system information. This information will detail number of devices, brand names, and serial numbers. Other information includes: DMI/SMI, PCI, PnP, APM, ACPI, ESCD, BIOS 32, IDE, SCSI, RAM and much more. This information can be viewed on screen, saved to file, or sent to a printer. QTP will put your system through the most vigorous diagnostics available. It includes the following: 57 motherboard tests, 28 hard drive tests, 9 floppy drive tests, 15 CD ROM, DVD, CD-RW, ARMD (Zip and LS120) tests, 20 COM port tests, 25 parallel port tests, 20 modem tests, 21 printer (parallel) tests, 15 video graphics tests, 9 monitor tests, sound card tests, speaker test, mouse tests, an individual test for each keyboard key, 24 unique and proprietary algorithm memory tests and much more. That is over 300 tests to scope out the most evasive system errors. The ELK-PSD-PRO comes complete with everything you'll need to run all tests and functions on virtually any type of computer. The Diagnostic Software suite includes: one 25 pin parallel, one 25 pin serial, and two 9 pin serial loop back plugs, Network Loop-back, Audio Loop-back, Test CD & DVD ROMs, ELK-PSD-PRO diskette, ELK-PSD-PRO Bootable CDROM, ELK-PSD-PER diskette, ELK-PSD-PRO Tutorial CDROM, and "Technician Certified" Labels. |

Dual Operating Modes

System Information
Provides a complete report on the system. Select information for motherboard, peripherals, IRQ/DMA usage, CMOS, I/O ports, PCI / PnP and Benchmarking. A newly added feature generates DMI information. This will provide detail specification of components. For example, if you want to know what kind of memory you have installed. DMI will return specifics on memory type, module type, installed size, speed, bank connections and error status. Ideal for detecting Over-clocked or Remarked CPUs. |
System Board Testing
Continuous loop testing verifies proper operation of CPU, FPU, DMA channels, interrupts, timers, BIOS, keyboard, and other I/O functions. Full testing of CMOS Clock functions is also done. |
USB Ports

Cache RAM
True cache RAM testing accomplished by determining the existence of Cache RAM and the exact amount (up to 2 megabytes). Twenty plus algorithms are used for accurate testing. |

PCI Bus

Complete PCMCIA information detailing number of adapters, number of sockets, device type, address occupied and more. Full information on PCMCIA socket services are also provided. |
Hard and Floppy Drives
All new test to support the latest hard drives on the market. The software is capable of testing eight hard drives. Performs read, write, seek, verify, and media tests. Each test is run using the following patterns: sequential, random, butterfly and modified butterfly. Password and locking features are also available. SCSI Identifier- Detects and reports pertinent information on SCSI devices using ASPI standards. |
CD ROM
Provides complete testing for EIDE CD ROMs without the need for loading drivers. Tests are performed using direct hardware interrogation techniques. Drives up to 60 X supported. |
Hard Drive Format
Provides easy routine for low level formatting of hard drives including IDE drives. This will automatically conduct a format function without user intervention. Can also be used on drives that are unrecoverable. |
FAT Editor
Provides capability of editing fat tables for all physical and logical drives. Can also be used as a Data Recovery Tool. |
Video
Complete testing for video cards with up to 64 Megs of Video RAM. Software automatically configures test to chipset type, RAM size and VESA standard. The tests are performed in highest resolution mode support by the card. |
Monitor
Displays a series of graphics to determine proper alignment of display. A step by step testing process is conducted for all modes supported by the monitor. (i.e.: 1280*1024*64K colors) |
LPT and COM Ports
Tests up to eight parallel or serial ports. New auto detect mode automatically finds all installed ports. The test will also perform and internal and external (using provided loop-back plugs) modes. During the testing process, the software will detail port information, IRQ used and modes supported. |
Modems
Complete testing of internal and external modems. Auto-detection mode will automatically find and test an installed modem and displays all configuration and detailed test result information. |
Benchmarking
Speed testing for CPUs, hard drives, floppy drives, video cards and multimedia sub system. CPU Benchmarking determines throughput of CPU speed compared to average speed of similar systems. |
I/O PORT Monitor
3FFH (400-FFFH Low BIOS), to notify users as to which locations are either used or available. Also allows users to exempt of limit the snooping at specific addresses. Full support for extended EISA and MCA I/O ports. Perfect for I/O conflict resolution. |
Memory Scanner
Scans base RAM for all programs loaded into memory including; BIOS, Video BIOS, drivers, and any TSRs. Also helps for resolve memory conflicts in base addresses. |
Network Configuration
Details information on network type and setup parameters. Also displays a user list for active networks. |
Sound Cards
Tests 22 different sound cards. Provides sound card information along with Ad-lib, FM sound and PCM sound tests. Even without drivers (direct hardware analysis). |
Printer Tests
Tests 700 printers as well as HP mode and Postscript modes. Tests are conducted by printing samples, which must be visually confirmed. HP and PostScript modes require printers capable of supporting these features. |
